DART GAME TYPES

There are hundreds of dart game types that are played around the world. Some of the most popular ones are described below.

Dart 301/501/701/1001

All of these are standard games, the numbers referring to the starting score for each player. The points scored are continually deducted from the starting figure till a player reaches zero. This must be done by scoring a double, that is, the last throw that makes the count zero must land on the outer narrow ring. If zero can not be reached by a double figure, for example if the score is 21, then the player must reduce this to, say 20 by scoring a 1, and then score a double of 10 to win. This is called a ‘double out.’ Games can be played without this rule, and are called single out.

Dart Cricket

This game limits the scoring board to the following numbers: 15 to 20 and the bull. Each of these has to be hit 3 times and is then considered closed, though points can still be scored. A double counts as two hits and triple counts as three hits. A double bull counts as two hits. The scoring system remains the same, except that once a player has closed a number, his opponent can not score points on it as long as he/she does not close that number on their part. The player who closes all the numbers with maximum points wins. In case a player has close all the given points, but has lesser points than the opponent, he/she can continue to throw and score.

 Dart Baseball

The scoring pattern is as per the baseball game. Nine innings are played, and in each one of them only the number of the inning can be scored. Double counts as 2 runs, and a triple is 3 runs. In case of a tie, extra innings take the bullseye as the target. The maximum scorer wins.

Dart Shanghai

The aim is to score a single, double, and a triple on any given point, starting at number 1. If no one scores, the game moves on to the next number.
